A continuation of our popular World Heritage Green Bean Kits, the Double Date series features two coffees of each type or region for you to enjoy and compare. This Arabica / Robusta Double Date enables you to contrast and compare two of the world’s finest Arabica species of coffee with two examples of the world’s finest Robusta species.
The Java Typica is the “first” species of Arabica spread widely around the world and later became almost rare because it was not as easy to cultivate and the yields were small, but it is unexcelled for aroma and sharp, bright flavora. The Brazil Adrano is a high-cupping score volcanic soil coffee, a Catuai mix of yellow and red fruited varieties. The Philippine organic Robusta is a super-high altitude example of how fine a taste profile Robusta can have when provided with prime growing conditions. The Vietnamese Dalat peaberry Robusta is chocolatey, smooth, low in acid and has a wonderful persistence on the palate.
Arabica coffee stimulates primarily the front palate, whereas Robusta coffee stimulates primarily the back of the palate. Are you a front or back palate person? The human race is split 50/50 on this… find out now for yourself!
An 8-page booklet provides more information on the coffees and roasting and blending tips. Our kits are a fun way for home roasters to add to their experience and enjoy unique high-cupping score coffees!
